The Canyon.

What does a marriage and a canyon have in common? This sounds like the start of a bad joke. But as we watch this film, we learn very quickly of the symbolism between the two. A canyon has been a river that flows through it for miles carving out the bedrock that these two stand on. There are many twists, turns, and obstacles along the way. And the same is true of this life. Canyons can typically be a place of danger, struggle, and unknowns. This is more of a picture of marriage than the top of a mountain. Watch as this story unfolds and learn more about love, connection, and the beauty of celebration.

Approach & Results.

We spent two days filming this. We started location scouting, walking the canyon, getting angles set up, and testing the sound. The audio was well scripted and dubbed over the video, recorded in a quiet studio, while the groom to be rehearsed his lines.

The next day we set up early, tucked away with two cameras, waiting to follow the two as they near the spot picked out. There was no choreography, set design, or retakes - this was completely shot in one setting, all natural. We wanted to capture the feel of the environment to speak for itself with a mixture of human connection.

The video was played among family and friends, and they all laughed, cried, and shared this wonderful experience together. The couple had their own moment away from everyone, and now were able to share it with the ones they love. This is the power of a story, that brings people together to have a shared experience. They were able to tell this story, not just with words.
